Choose Suitable Thick / Heavy Gauge Vacuum Forming Machine Types

How to choose the right heavy gauge vacuum forming machine and mold tooling? The important factors include mold, product, plastic type and output requirements, etc. Therefore, the following information must be collected or available before making a good choice:

thick gauge vacuum forming machine

  • Product dimensions (length, width, height);
  • Wall thickness of the product;
  • Type and quantity of products used; PC, PMMA and ABS sheet should be different.

After obtaining the above information, you can choose a suitable thick sheet thermoforming machine, according to the following steps:

  1. The maximum external dimension of the product, determines the size of the wellhead of the machine. If the molding area is less than 1.5 square meters, choose a small thick plate machine, if it is 1.5 to 3.7 square meters, choose a large plate machine.
  2. If the product wall thickness is between 1.5-2mm, and the stretching ratio product (the ratio of the average size of height / length + width) is greater than 1, a double-layer heating vacuum forming model should be used. If less than 1, then use a single-layer heating model. If the product wall thickness is below 1.5mm, no matter how large the stretch ratio is, (of course, the product with a stretch ratio exceeding 1.5 is not suitable for vacuum forming molding), a single-layer heating model can be selected.
  3. Choose according to the type and quantity of the product. If product design is relatively simple, quantity is large, and the annual output is more than 60,000 to 80,000 pcs, choose double-station or multi-station model.
  4. For heavy gauge vacuum forming mold, it is appropriate to use an aluminum alloy mold. If the product has a large number of specifications and a small number of single units, it is appropriate to use a single station, and use a heating unit to control one, and the pressing frame and the support plate can be adjusted. Machine models, which are easy to change the mold are better. And most of the plastic molds are made of resin or bakelite.
